    A special committee comprising representatives of all parliamentary parties formed to devise an action plan to counter terrorism will meet today.

    The Anti-Terrorism National Action Plan Committee (ATNAPC) received the names of representatives from Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), Jamat-e-Islami (JI), Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) and Awami National Party (ANP).

    The government will finalize these names shortlisted by their respective political parties.

    Federal Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan will chair the first meeting of ATNAPC at 4pm today. He will be assisted by National Coordinator of National Counter Terrorism Authority (NACTA), Hamid Ali Khan and Secretary Interior Shahid Ali Khan.

    Federal Minister Abdul Qadir Baloch will represent Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) in the committee.

    The PPP forwarded names of Rehman Malik and Qamar Zaman Kaira. One of them will be selected to be included in the committee.

    The PTI nominated Shireen Mazari, PML-Q Mushahid Hussain Syed, ANP Afrasaib Khattak, while Jamaat Islami named Sahabzada Tariq for the purpose.

    The committee mandated by Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has been designated to frame a national action plan in a week's time with a view to wipe out terrorism in the country.

    Counter-terrorism experts will also be approached for their proposals.
