Jahangir Tareen, a senior PTI leader, Monday rejected charges of embezzlement leveled by Pervaiz Rashid, federal information minister, against him and his company.

Talking to media here, Tareen rejected Rashid’s claim that he was only a minority shareholder of a public limited company JDW Sugar Mills. “Shares held by me, my sons and wife makes me the majority shareholder,” he said, adding such allegations are an ample proof that PML-N is puzzled over November 30 protest in Islamabad by PTI. PTI leader said that this week he would send a legal notice to Rashid seeking a public apology. He also made public an audit report showing how much money was spent on the operation of a JDW-owned aircraft, used by Imran Khan to address public rallies across Pakistan. Tareen said the government should also make public expenses incurred on travelling by prime minister and his relatives.

He said during the financial year ending September 30, 2013 a total of Rs50.7 million expenses were incurred on the operation of this aircraft out of which he personally paid Rs40.8 million. Yesterday, Federal Minister for Information, Broadcasting and National Heritage Senator Pervaiz Rashid said Imran Khan for the last two to three years is using an aeroplane owned by JDW for political purposes and for creating chaos and disunity in the country. He said this is an illegal act as according to the company laws a public limited company cannot contribute funds for politics.
