Minister of Railway Saad Rafique met Javed Hashmi at his residency and later jointly addressed the media in Multan on Monday.
Javed Hashmi said the by-poll of Multan was a media war against him alone and that he lost the election combat but won the battle of democracy. He further said he has accomplished the goal of forcing people to turn to ballots despite disbelieve. All political parties believe him that is also an achievement, he added. Saad Raafique praised Javed Hashmi for his steadfastness stating that once he makes up his mind for something, nothing could hold him back. He further said his relationship with Javed Hashmi stands beyond politics. Earlier, Pakistan Muslim League – Nawaz (PML-N) had generously supported Makhdoom Javed Hashmi in the by-election on NA-149 but Hashmi had pronounced not to join any political party in case he wins.
