    Senior commanders review operation Zarb-e-Azb, after new Afghan Govt File Photo

    Chief of Army Staff (COAS), General Raheel Sharif on Wednesday chaired Corps Commanders Conference, which reviewed the ongoing operation Zarb-e-Azb and the situation after a new government in Afghanistan.

    According to details, consultation was held between the top military commanders over the ongoing operation Zarb-e-Azb and the situation after a transition of power in Afghanistan.

    Sources told that the conference also reviewed different affairs including the law and order situation of the country.

    During the conference, the corps commanders getting relieved from their responsibilities in October were farewelled, while the officials taking charge in place of them were welcomed.

    Five senior officials of the Pakistan Army completed their tenure today after rendering great services for the defense of the state. These outgoing officials include DG ISI, Lt. Gen. Zaheer ul Islam, Corps Commander Mangla Lt. Gen. Tariq Khan, Corps Commander Gujranwala Lt. Gen. Salim Nawaz, Corps Commander Peshawar Lt. Gen. Khalid Rabbani and Corps Commander Karachi Lt. Gen. Sajjad Ghani.

    Officials taking charge in place of the outgoing officials are Lt Gen. Rizwan Akhter as the new DG ISI, Lt. Gen. Hidayat ur Rahman as Corps Commander Peshawar, Lt. Gen. Naveed Mukhtar as Corps Commander Karachi, Lt. Gen. Bilal Hussain as Corps Commander Mangla, Lt. Gen. Ghayyur Mahmood as Corps Commander Gujranwala, while Lt. Gen. Nazeer Butt will be serving as the IG Communications and Information Technology.
