    Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) administration has suspended two key officials of the airlines, holding them responsible for 2-hour delay in departure of PK-370 passenger flight from Karachi.

    According to PIA spokesman, the suspended officials included PK-370 Shift Manager Nadeem Abro and Manager Terminal Shehzad Ali.

    The spokesman Mashood Tajwar confirmed that the action was taken on directives of Shujaat Azeem, the Adviser to the Prime Minister, due to delay in flight for ‘unnecessary reasons’.

    He said that the flight was scheduled to leave at 7 PM last evening but due to technical reasons it was rescheduled for 8.30 pm.

    PIA spokesman asserted that the flight got further delayed by 15-20 minutes which was ‘unnecessary’ and that the PIA management has taken notice of this unwanted delay on the orders of advisor to the prime minister on aviation.

    Tajwar said that the airlines took disciplinary action against two officials for this ‘unnecessary’ delay.

    But, as the plane landed at Karachi airport with delay then the usual time, the flight was rescheduled for 8:30 PM. However, the flight was delayed for 15 to 20 more minutes for “unnecessary reasons
