  • Anti-measles vaccine: Death toll reaches 6 in Balochistan

Two more children died Friday due to substandard vaccination of measles in Qila Saifullah district of Balochistan, bringing the death toll to six in two days.

Several children were reported to be in critical condition and four of them died after they were administered anti-measles vaccine on Thursday in a government-run hospital of Qila Saifullah district.

The affected children were later shifted to Civil Hospital Quetta for treatment. Abdul Qadir, the medical officer of children ward in Civil Hospital, said the vaccination was not substandard.

Doctors said several affected children were still under treatment in Quetta hospital. The two children died today belonged to the same family, doctors said.
