At least 40 people, including women and children, fell unconscious after consuming toxic rice during a wedding ceremony on Saturday.
The affected people were transported to Sheikh Zayed Hospital where most of the people are said to be in stable condition.
According to hospital sources, as many as 40 people were admitted. They had lost consciousness after eating rice in a wedding ceremony that took place in Khan Bela area of Rahim Yar Khan.
According to hospital sources, at least 26 people have been discharged after receiving first aid. The remaining 16 people are still being treated at the hospital.
