Islamabad: Including Pakistan the whole world Celebrate World Civil Defence day to elaborate the importance of civil defence.
Every year, the 1st of March marks the global celebration of the World Civil Defence Day established by the International Civil Defence Organisation (ICDO) in 1990. The aim of this celebration is to establish a platform to build safer and more united communities within all nations.
The World Civil Defence Day was created to commemorate the entry into force of the ICDO Constitution in 1972 and has the threefold purpose of bringing to the attention of the public the vital importance of Civil Protection; of raising the awareness on prevention and self-protection measures in the case of accidents or disasters; and of paying tribute to the efforts, sacrifices and accomplishments of all the national services responsible for the fight against disasters.
