Sajal Aly and Adnan Siddiqui are all set for their Bollywood debuts alongside Sridevi in the upcoming Mom. The movie will hit the theatres on July 7, 2017.

So far, we’ve seen them holding their own in the trailer which was released recently. And now, the first song from the movie – titled O Sona Tere Liye – is here too and as expected, it is soul-stirring, to say the least.

Sung by the one and only AR Rahman, Sona Tere Liye showcases a troubled family trying to perhaps move on from a disturbing past.

The song also highlights the disturbed relationship between Sridevi and her stepdaughter, played by Aly.

It beautifully tries to capture the struggle of the daughter who is perhaps fighting a battle within herself.

O Sona Tere Liye shows Siddiqui as the fun, understanding father and husband.

One thing apparent from the trailer of the movie is the problematic relationship between Sri Devi and Sajal’s character. The mysterious aura to the song adds to the thrill.

But Rahman’s velveteen voice adds much-needed solace. He even took to his official Twitter page to share the song. “O Sona Tere Liye from the Mom soundtrack, releasing today, was conceived, composed, written and sung last week… hope you like it Momthemovie.”

The Sridevi-thriller also stars Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Akshaye Khanna in pivotal roles. In the posters unveiled earlier, Sridevi, Nawaz and Akshaye are giving out intense vibes, making the movie appear really interesting.

Mom is directed by debutant Ravi Udywar and produced by Sridevi’s husband Boney Kapoor. She was last seen in Gauri Shinde’s English Vinglish.
