  • Legendary Bollywood actor Vinod Khanna dies at 70

    Veteran Bollywood actor Vinod Khanna passed away at the age of 70 on Thursday, Times of India reported. The Amar Akbar Anthony star was reportedly fighting cancer for years. He was hospitalised earlier this month due to severe dehydration, and had responded positively to treatment, doctors treating him confirmed.

    Vinod had featured in films like Mere Apne, Insaaf and Amar Akbar Anthony in his long Bollywood career. He had worked in over 100 films, and was also an active politician, and member of Parliament from Gurdaspur, Punjab.

    Vinod is survived by his wife Kavita Khanna, sons Rahul, Akshaye and Sakshi, and daughter Shraddha Khanna, according to Indian Express.

    The legendary actor became one of the most famous film stars in the 1970s and 1980s. He received the Filmfare award in the best supporting actor category for Haath Ki Safaai, and in 1999 he received the Filmfare Lifetime Achievement Award.
