In a sad turn of events (blasts in Lahore), the Pakistan Fashion Design Council (PFDC) has decided to postpone the PFDC Sunsilk Fashion Week that was going to take place in the coming week.

The fashion week was originally scheduled to take place from the 2nd to the 5th of March but the recent blasts in Lahore have led the council to decide that it's better to hold the event at a later time, when the situation is more secure.

According to the council’s publicist, designers, the council and Lahore on the whole feel very disturbed following yesterday’s blasts. It was considered prudent that an event as high-profile as PSFW, hosting media and fashion fraternity from across the country, should be delayed.

The event still will take place, say our sources, hopefully soon. During such times, an entire country suffers and PSFW’s delay is reflective of the deep-rooted paranoia that has now set into the country’s psyche.

Culture and the arts and even day to day life has now been disturbed by a perpetual fear of the constant warnings regarding ‘security threats’ floating about on the media. As the currently viral hashtag says, we’re #PrayingForLahore – and for Pakistan.
