    The government has decided to double the number of scholarships being awarded to Afghan students.

    Official sources told our Peshawar correspondent that three thousand fresh scholarships will be given to Afghan students studying in Pakistani educational institutions.

    Three thousand Afghan students are already availing this facility.

    Meanwhile, the political administration Khyber Agency has started issuing special permits to Afghan students enrolled in schools of Torkham.

    This will enable the students to easily cross Pakistan-Afghanistan border and attend their classes in Torkham.

    The permit will be valid for six months.
