The government announced Tuesday evening a change in petroleum prices for the next two weeks.
According to Express News, price of petrol and diesel was increased by Rs2.25 and Rs2.26 per litre respectively.
However, a notification in this regard was not issued until the filing of this report.
The tariff for light speed diesel and kerosene oil remained unchanged.
The Finance ministry received a summary from the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) on Monday that recommended the upward revision in oil prices.
