Finance Minister Ishaq Dar has extended the tax amnesty scheme aimed to bring the businessmen into tax net by one month.
The businessmen could now take benefit of the scheme till May 31.
The finance minister has also extended the 0.4 percent concessional withholding tax on bank withadrwals for another month.
According to FBR statistics just 9,000 businessmen has been inducted in the tax amnesty scheme in three month.
The government planned to bring one million traders into the tax net under the scheme which has benefited the national treasury by less than one billion rupees.
