Turkmenistan authorities on Friday issued a notice to Pakistan International Airlines for nonpayment of fees related to using the country’s airspace for international flights.
PIA uses Turkmenistan’s airspace for flights to Europe and Canada. The aviation authorities of Turkmenistan asked the national carrier to pay the dues by November 3. Earlier in April this year, Saudi General Authority of Civil Aviation had sent a notification to PIA regarding nonpayment of dues worth millions of rupees. PIA has been suffering losses worth billions since many years and its accumulated dues have been on the rise.
